Tibetan Script (Uchen)

The Tibetan script was created in the 7th century by Thonmi Sambhota at the order of Emperor Songtsen Gampo. It is derived from an Indic script and has 30 root consonants. It is used for Tibetan, Dzongkha, and related languages. The formal upright style is called Uchen ('with head').
